In 2013 Rade were asked by AHDB Beef and Lamb (then known as EBLEX) to build a mobile app to allow farmers to view market data on the move.
The app was built as a hybrid app in HTML5 using Cordova so that it could be easily deployed across both the Android and iOS platforms. The app downloads market data from the market data website via a web service. The market data website was built by Rade alongside the app to take data from AHDB’s MI department via CSV and prepare it for display.
Alongside the market data the app also allows users to select documents from the Better Returns Programme and videos from Beef and Lamb TV to download to their device for offline viewing. The app also displays upcoming events and recent news articles which are downloaded from the main AHDB Beef and Lamb website.
